Patricia Piller was born in Washington DC and spent the first 5 years of her life in the metropolitan area.  She moved to the Philippines where she lived until she was 15 years old; returning to the states to start High School.  Patricia earned her B.A. from George Mason University and later went on to earn her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

In July 2009, Patricia came to Friendship Place after working for over 20 years at the Affiliated Sante Group in Silver Spring, Maryland.  She has extensive experience in providing clinical/administrative social work and therapeutic sevices.

Patricia's previous position at ASG was the Director of Psychiatric Rehabilitative Services for a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program that served adults with Developmental Disabilities and mental illness.  Most of her experience has been working with adults that have severe and persistent mental illness; many with addiction issues as well.  She coordinated a Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Out Patient Services which served individuals with severe psychiatric/behavioral impairments.  Additiionally, Patricia provided individual and group therapies, supervised the clinical staff who worked for the program as well as MSW interns.  Prior to those positions she worked in Psychiatric Rehabilitation programs in various capacities.

Patricia now lives in Northern Virgina and enjoys spending time with family/friends, taking long walks with her husband and dogs, dancing, listening to music and trying to learn to play guitar which her husband has been patiently trying to teach her!
