Drew Gossett grew up in central Texas and began his career working at a rehabilitation facility for adults with mental retardation and mental illness while attending the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating with a BA in Sociology, he worked for the state of Texas both as a Juvenile Probation and Parole Officer. In 2005, Drew returned to school at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned his Master’s degree in Criminology.

Since moving to the Washington, D.C. area, Drew has enjoyed working in the nonprofit sector as a case manager specializing in issues involving mental illness, homelessness, and substance abuse. Drew initially joined the Friendship Place team as a Case Manager at Neighbors First, and now serves as the Homeless Services Case Manager at the Welcome Center. What he loves most about his job is working with people from all walks of life to make positive changes.

As a past competitor in the Texas Water Safari, Drew enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities and is an avid sports fan.  On any given weekend, he is likely to be found out and about enjoying all that the D.C. area has to offer.
