Amber Smith was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. She attended Hampton University for two years before transferring to the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her BA in Psychology. After graduating from college, she moved back to the Washington, DC area and currently resides near the Waterfront. Prior to joining the Neighbors First Program, Amber worked as a case manager for a private group home that serves neglected adolescent females in the District. Amber joined the Neighbors First Program in March 2010 and is excited to be a part of an organization committed to empowering people. In her spare time, Amber enjoys photography, reading, Broadway musicals and spending time with friends and family.
