Case Manager, Neighbors First GB

A Maryland native, Greg Burks brings 3 years of experience to Friendship Place. While in high school, Greg was a spokesman for the Maryland-based National Mentoring Partnership. He has served as an inclusion companion since 2008 for emotionally and physically disabled youth and adults with the Howard County (MD) Parks and Recreation department. In 2008-2009, Greg managed a caseload of clients with drug and alcohol dependency and mental health issues for a non-profit in Baltimore. Before joining the Neighbors First team at Friendship Place, Greg worked for more than a year as a special education teacher at an elementary school in Columbia, MD.

Greg holds a BA in Psychology from Point Park University in Pittsburgh and is working toward an MA in Psychology. When not working to end homelessness, Greg can be found with his camera or dancing. He is the founder and owner of Framing Insight Photography and facilitates a movement therapy class at Body Well Being in Columbia, MD.
