Dr. June KressJune Kress has more than 30 years of criminal justice experience as a policy analyst, researcher, program director, consultant, and academic. She spent 9 years at the US Dept. of Justice COPS Office and the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and completed a year as a loaned intergovernmental executive with the DC Council’s Judiciary Committee. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from NYU and a masters and doctorate in criminology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Kress is active in community service on behalf of the homeless and serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place. She has been the Council’s Executive Director since January 2004.

 

Marilyn Hannigan, before becoming a community representative on the board, generously opened her home and  participated in two fundraisers, with the benefits going to CCHFP. She was the head of table at the fundraising breakfast for the Ben Cooper Award, and encouraged other to come along and contribute to the cause of helping our homeless friends and neighbors.

A member of the development committee she stepped up this year to become co-secretary of the board.
