Keith Cote was born in Rochester, NY, but spent the majority of his childhood years and a large portion of his adult life living in Florida. Keith earned his Master's Degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and went on to spend twenty years working as a teacher and a coach for high school students in Dade County, FL.
From 2004 to 2007 Keith worked with the National Aids Marathon Training Program, raising money for the Whitman Walker Aids Clinic. He trained for and ran three marathons in four years - two of them in Hawaii and one in Florence, Italy.
Keith was homeless "for a minute", and with the grace of the Lord and help from Friendship Place, he was able to get back on his feet. He joined the Friendship Place staff in October 2010 as Residential Facilitator, working at both Veronica's House for women and Zeke's House for men. Keith has also been the driving force behind the new Insider Outreach Team that began in March 2011, where he works alongside dedicated volunteers Terry Snead and George Siletti.
In Keith's downtime, he enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, cooking and sportfishing.
