Erin Holland was born in Simcoe, Ontario Canada and moved to Columbia, Missouri in high school. Returning home following graduation she received her BA in Psychology from Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. Erin moved around the United States following college and began her social work career providing day services to adults dually diagnosed with developmental disorders and severe mental illness in Manhattan, Kansas. Erin moved from Kansas to New Mexico before eventually settling in the Washington, DC area where she began working as a case manager with a vocational rehabilitation program in Montgomery County, MD serving those with persistent mental illness and addiction disorders. Erin began working with Neighbors First in July of 2011.
