Tasha Mitchell moved from a sunny beach community in Southern California to Washington, DC in 2004 to attend Howard University. After graduating in 2008 with a B.S. in Psychology, she stayed to pursue an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, which she is currently in the process of completing. While in undergrad Tasha worked as a Resident Assistant supporting and mentoring students, and in grad school she completed a practicum at the Howard University Counseling Service through which performed clinical assessments and provided individual psychotherapy. She has a deeply-rooted passion to help better the lives of both the homeless and military populations. She joined the team at Neighbors First in January of 2012 and is excited to contribute to the work being done at Friendship Place.

In her free time, Tasha enjoys listening to music, playing her guitar, watching movies, laughing hysterically, staying physically active, and spending quality time with friends. She is an avid sports fan (Go Vikings!), loves traveling, and is infatuated with tasty cuisine.
